Decided to hit the American Tuesday morning after being skunked at the sac throwing flying c's multiple times. Got to the river at 6:30 am and there were already about 30 people in the general area. Threw flying c's for about a hour for nothing but wasn't till about 7:30-8 that I started to see other people hooking up. Got smart about then and me and my buddy threw on 3 red beads on a six foot leader with a 1 ounce weight above the swivel. He almost immediately hooked up but snapped the line after a few min. About 9 he hooked into another but this one was a big boy. He fought this one for about 3 min and his line snapped again, needless to say he is gonna go home and upgrade from cheap 12# test to some decent 15#. About 9:45 I hooked into a hog that I fought for about ten min as it went on a nice run up river. Got him about 5 ft from shore and he turned his head and spit the hook. I was heartbroken. Not to fear it was still a great day on the river and I will be heading back tomorrow morning
